But this is just sort of how we we get to the, the root of ourselves, the core of ourselves. I like to say every wound is a gift. So this is just the way we actually discover and share our.

Gifts by exploring wounds. Wealthy Wednesday. That's sort of what we're going to be doing today. I mean, really talking about money, because one of the things is people don't.

It's money, religion, sex and politics that people can't really talk about anymore without creating some sort of, like in polite company, you know? It used to be people talk politics all the time, but now it's polarizing.

You know, sitting around the dinner table, people rarely talk about their sex life, you know, if they're out to dinner with people. And they really rarely talk about money, usually the money stuff.

Is all about.

When money comes up, people think it's going to be a scam. You know if and and even a couple of people mentioned, you know message me and said you know this topic of splitting up the loop makes it sound like a scam. I'm like that's, you know, we got to get beyond that. We really have to talk about how we're going to.

Make money for ourselves and and for each other and support this whole community because it's not economically viable. You can forget about it.

So anyway, that's what Wednesdays are going to be about. That's partially what today is about, Thursday, Thursday. I mean, I really want that to be sort of a hot tub, like the dating pool, you know, let people come up, present themselves. I know it's a big part. I mean, we're both.

Old and aren't part of that. And I'll never forget when I had my wife on FaceTime. And you, you said you're married with this complete.

I don't, you know, I think people should understand it more, talk about it more, and we should talk about how we're all going to get wealthy and how this, this Dow is going to have plenty of money to support us in all of our creative endeavors.

But just before you you hopped in, I covered mobile Monday, so that's going to be app design.

Feature request trauma Tuesday going deep into our own stories and, you know, sharing parts of ourselves, wealthy Wednesday as I mentioned, is going to be this what we're going to be doing today, which is talk about money, how how we're going to make money, things about royalties and how we're not going to be dependent on royalties and, you know, the money ecosystem as a whole. Thirsty Thursday is going to be about, you know, for us old people, it's going to be about matchmaking for young people

You know, it's getting more. It's just going to be basically more social than the other days. And we're going to bring up people who, I mean everybody loves a good simple opportunity. That just is what made web three, web three. So whether you're male, female, whatever, we're going to, we're going to bring people up and we're all going to turn into simps in front of them. So I just thought that would be something that would be attractive to people.

Um, and then feature Friday is going to be like what we did yesterday. But it's not just going to be limited to one of one art. We're also going to ask for generative collections entrepreneurs. You know, people selling.

CBD oil, whatever you want to shell. This is the date where you know we're going to get you up. And it's not going to be like, I really don't like those things like chill and villain does where, you know, Shark Tank like like things where it's antagonistic. I mean, what I want this to be is like the hot tub, not the Shark Tank where we're all in this cozy warm water together and we're just vibing on all these amazing projects instead of.

You know, trying to.

Take people down and you know all that. So that's the idea.

You cannot get a fake ID.

Except from another hellbender.

So it is going to start in the very beginning. I'm going to mint the kid a fake ID.

OK, maybe I'll rent it to a couple people. I'll give Rob a fake idea. I'll give foias a fake idea. You know, the people who've been showing up for a long time get fake ID's after that.

Everybody's got to pay for their fake ID. Fake ID's are gonna cost $6.66 fits with the hellbender theme, so.

Now the fake ID is going to have a royalty share, so um.

10 and uh, 60% goes to the Dow. OK again, not much money, but.

You're gonna need a fake ID to mint the actual hellbender, which is going to be $149.

And the royalty distribution is going to be the same. So the kids going to get the 20% of the $149. So if you've minted and people can mint an unlimited number of fake ID's off of you, except they're only going to be 3333 fake ID's supply to begin with. So once these fake ID's are there, there's going to be a scramble to get these, which is going to be the equivalent of.

Getting on to, uh, a white list. But again, you can only get them from someone who has it. So MD, who's been showing up, he's certainly going to get, you know, early fake ID thing. I've been farming. You know, the people who are here from the beginning. We know they've been here from the beginning. And I'm going to share this secret link very early on.

You're gonna actually, what's really cool about this is there's also going to be a photo booth where you create your own PFP out of the hellbender attributes. So you can make yourself, you know you can choose what hat you want. You can choose 3D glasses, you can choose, you know, a male or female avatar, you choose your pronouns. You can be you know, he, she, or they.

And basically, again, this is your ID and there's a whole.

In the future, we're talking about all this stuff about verification. And so this is when you have your you have your fake ID in your wallet. When you have your phone and someone else has your your phone, and you both hit a button on the app and you're close enough to each other that you verified each others soon.

Um, there's a lot we can do on chain. So because we want people to have different identities, but we also want to know who we're talking to. I'm. I'm. I'm back. Actually, I'm. I'm just finished up some stuff. It was, you know, it's hard to be on two meetings at the same time. I try some days, but today I just didn't have it in me.

Well, today we're talking about money and you're a big investor in Scobie.

And you've been investing in me as a person for for quite a while. I'd really like your thoughts on, on the economics and the importance of of this launch. And you have your own game that you want to have up on, you know on on Salana and and want this whole community to boost your game will be distributors for you. But just tell us a little bit about.

Your journey as an investor, what you look at, what you look for and and how important the economics is in this whole equation.

All right.

I'll try not to get too, too boring because you know my my background. I'm I'm a freaking scientist, so when it comes to numbers and math, maths, that's my thing.

So as I got closer to retirement when you and I met, I was think I was like 4 years out.

And and I started planning on what I was gonna do for my retirement. And we had that conversation and I was like, hmm. So I went back and started looking at it. So.

I had up to this point.

Invested.

On my own quite a bit into different stocks and and commodities and you know just the traditional you know wealth building strategies right. Except I I had a little twist because as a computer scientist, a computer engineer I I kind of had an insight on how a lot of these things were made.

I started looking at supply chain and then started looking at OK, what are critical, critical components of the supply chain.

All right, I'm going to go invest in that. And and to be honest, Dave, I did so not as a conscientious and investor. I just did it as a greedy capitalist because.

You know, we're going to have to do this anyway, so why not me?

And so the the if the companies itself were not as good to the people as that work for them. If they were kind of shady in some of their practice, as long as they were and it was a method criteria, I didn't care about their behavior.

And and I'm not proud of that, but and.

But now I've, I've, I've, I've kind of changed that parameter.

But, you know, through those investments.

I learned a whole lot about.

Supply chain.

The the the critical supply chain where you have single points of failure, two points of failure. Monopolies within corporations that that that not only protect their interests but prevent other.

Companies or other individuals to get an opportunity.

And and.

At some point through our conversations, I started changing on how I wanted to invest.

Right.

So.

I started this well, you know, the crypto thing. I was doing crypto thing before we met, but not heavily. It was just stacking, right? Because I'm, I'm, I think of the future. I'm a futurist.

I believe that our best years are not here yet.

You know, some people holler for the glory of good old glory days like Bruce Springstead, Springstead said. But Springsteen said. But I think we've yet to get to where we will become as a inhumanity. So we're either going to become much better or we're just going to go back to, you know, living in caves. I'm not sure which one it is at this point.

But.

Now I started changing, you know who I would invest in, not just because of that supply chain and their critical position on the supply chain, but how they.

You know, treated the world around them.

And I ended up liquidating so many companies that I had invested in over the past 30 years.

And then I started reinvesting. So that's that's actually how Scobee got it's you know.

It's it's it's money is because I I did that. And what made me change?

Dave was you and that's why I I actually started changing how I approached investing.

So that was through our conversations, I became a different type of investor, um and and and and.

So now Fast forward to now to where we're at today talking about this building in public, which is kind of exciting.

Is.

We have all kinds of people in this space.

And different levels of of knowledge, different levels of education, different levels of, just like we are in life. Different levels.

And and some of the folks here have really good intentions and may want to do something.

And but they don't know what it is yet. But they're, they're going to do it, but it's not stopping them from starting their journey, which I I think is absolutely fine. But then you have some of these companies out there who have started their journey on the backs of their community and then and then they run away.

And some of that is done via.

Let's just face it.

No offense here if you're 25 years old, or however old that that kid is, SBF or whatever his name is.

And you're running a billion dollar company. You're not. I. If I was in my 30s, I was not mature enough to run a billion dollar company. It's not something that you you get it. It takes wisdom.

And wisdom comes from suffering.

And if you haven't suffered, you haven't. Generated wisdom doesn't doesn't mean you're not smart, but it it it, you know, wisdom comes from time and suffering.

And there's a lack of wisdom in this space.

And, and I get it because you know the the ideas that are are new ideas coming from from you know smart people and you know kids who want to have a better future. And by the way you know when I say kids it's not a, a, an insult because you know my son is what.

3940 I'll shoot. I'm a terrible dad. I don't even know his age.

But but you know it's we're a different generation and and and The thing is I've learned things from every generation and and there's not not you know again it's more about the individual and what they bring of themselves to.

This you know to this space.

So what I've done Dave and and and more importantly is I started putting together evaluation criteria.

For all these different projects.

And and so the first thing that I do is I, I, you know, be in a technologist, I look at what they're trying to do.

From their their, you know, the White Paper, which most of them don't have enough information to tell us what they're doing. It's more of a aspirations.

And so it's. And if it's something that I, I, I go through that first step. So I look for is it real?

Can you win? Is it worth it?

Is it real?

There's a technology do what they say it can do.

There's quite a few of the project out there that stops me from aping in right away.

Now, it doesn't mean they have to have the technology in place, it means that that it has to be posted within the art of possible.

So again, is it real?

Well, can you win?

Is it solving a real problem?

Are you just, you know, building the clubhouse like the humans warming hater Club back at me little rascals days if you guys don't know what that is, is Google Little Rascals look up he man Woman Haters Club and then your then your then you got that reference because you motherfuckers say shit all the time. I have. I have to Google because I had no idea what you're talking about.

Kids been been you know, the Baroness has been translating for me because.

You know, cringe worthy. I learned what that was three days ago. I was like, what the what do you guys talk anyway, so.

You know.

Is it worth it? Is it solving a real problem? Is it bringing value to the community? Are you just doing stuff because you think it's cool?

You know you can't build a business around doing stuff because you think it's cool, because it's your passion, it's your love.

But if it's not solving a real world problem for the rest of your possible customer base, your community.

Then it's not really anything other than just a hobby for you. So you've got to find that and if you're you're artist you got to find out how your art can touch other people and and and I actually kid, I can't I couldn't tell you how to do this because I'm I'm not an artist. I you know I'm a zeros and ones guy so I'm this is no advice to anybody. It's just from a perspective of if I'm going to eat in it means I want to put my money into a project that I know is going to be successful.

To generate revenue for the rest of the community. And if I can't see that it could do that, then I I can't honestly ape in.

I I.

And then the last one.

I just want to interject there and say that I get what you're saying 100% and I agree with you, but I do think there also is always going to be the element of.

Really what it comes down to is.

You make Someone Like You like, do these projects do? Do people like the people who run these projects?

Do people?

Are we not there? We're not there yet. We're not there yet.

Because I use this first three criteria to to eliminate.

Yeah.

That's so and so hold that thought. We'll have that very shortly. So then there can you win?

As in, if I build this, I know it's solving a problem and and and it's and it's. It's it technically possible, but can it win? So if it costs me a half $1,000,000 to solve a $10 problem, I can't win.

That's the initial criteria I look at. Is it real?

Is it worth it? Can it win?

If they if a project meets those three, then I move it to the side. Then I start the second phase. I look at the the the Community leaders. I looked at the project leaders. I look at the founders. I look at the builders.

There's a couple of things in there I'm looking for. One is like ability. Go ahead, kid, it's on you now.

Well, it's just the thing. It's like.

Almost OK for me in my journey in this space. I guarantee you more people have bought my art because they heard me in spaces and they vibed with me or they wanted to support me as a person. Then they actually fucked with my art. Like if I'm being real about it, I think my art's gotten a lot better as I've journeyed and I think people now are starting to really buy my art because they just really liked it. I I'm starting to feel that more, but definitely early on, like people were just.

They fucked with me, so they bought my arm.

And I learned that when you're buying our.

You're buying the artist.

As much as you are the art and.

So it translates to a project the same like when people buy it to gods, they are in a sense buying Frank, you know, or the community as a whole. Or if you buy an S&B you are buying, you know, into a piece of Nam and all the other members of Monkey Dow or the community as a whole. If you get a chicken tribe, you you must fuck with flaws to some degree.

Yeah, not disagree with any of that, but for for a sustainable business to continue.

You've you've got to be able to meet those criteria. These these are standard criteria that has existed for for. And that's one of the things missing in Web three is business acumen. If you don't have business Accum you, you're not building something that's sustainable. Art kind of breaks those rules. It always has. It breaks the rules. And in real life I have a piece I just put on Facebook to sell. I have an original 1987.

Uh, Gere boat sculpture which if you go to a different places that have, you know have this work you know the the cheapest one I found was like $2500 and this is this is one of the his his works from the 1987 signed by him. And the reason I'm getting rid of is I'm moving so I'm trying to get rid of all the things that I'm you know I look at it, I like it. It's been on my wall for you know, 25.

Years.

But it's time for someone else to have that piece. And, you know, I'm, I put it on Facebook for 395, which is a fraction of what it's, you know, what what what it appraises for. Not because I'm trying to make money off of it. I'm trying to share it to somebody else. So art.

And and there are certain categories that don't fall into this, but I'm talking about for somebody who's going to bring big money into a project for sustainability.

Yeah.

And I'm I'm a VC.

I really like what you said, right?

That's how I yeah, that's how we're looking. So we're, we, we're we're looking at from two different purposes.

Yeah.

Right. Yeah, definitely. I can see the, the community versus the Community being the product versus the the product being the.

Outcome if that makes sense for VC's. So there's this be different angles here.

But that's.

Yes, yes, yes. But I still look at the community. I actually still look at the community because the Community has to be important, you know, that's yeah, it's good.

We we don't we haven't even decided what it is we want to be the product like the utility the whatever to. So I think that's what we really have to hammer in and get a solid vision on that like what are we going to build like what are we going to what what are we going to offer, why should somebody get a help under other than. I mean I get the whole concept of we want to do the you know the social side of it and and what we're trying to do there but if we're making an app like.

I think we should really hammer in on what's this app, what's its main purpose and what is it going to do and what are we building. But I got that quote was perfect.

And kid, I mean you're you're spot on in terms of, you know, what's the app going to do and how and why.

What's really interesting is even there getting people to care.

I don't think people actually buy utility, and even the word utility is such a horrible word. You know, there's in sales. It really all comes down to desire and what.

How much that desire is built? And the desire is usually not like you said, it's, you know.

They like you, they get you. They're they're somehow wanted, you know, you're an incredibly charismatic guy. They want to be connected to you. They want to be part of your community. But it's actually something deeper than that at the end of the day, like if you.

When I was in sales, there was this exercise was kind of like the five wise where it's like, OK, well they said this, what's the why, what's the why behind that? OK, you need money. Well, why do you need money? Well, you know, it turns out that you know for me.

There's something that's always at the deepest level. So I talked about this before when I went through a bankruptcy, just when.

My daughter got into Yale and which is my alma mater and like.

The worst thing that could have happened to me in my life is not being able to send my kids to college. I mean, I'm, you know, grew up in.

A Jewish East Coast, you know, family where you know, my dad was a doctor, my son, the doctor, whole thing, you know, it's just like.

It's really important and when you dig into those things.

Every single one. They're basically 4 main.

Categories of things people buy health, wealth, wisdom, and love. It always goes into one of those four things. And I see art.

Usually as part of the wisdom. Sometimes it's part of the love, but there's something that unlocks you. Like Fwas mentioned Basquiat before, I mean from an early age.

Art. I had these two sides. I had the philosophy side and the art side and like.

Getting it, you know, just like walking through museums and vibing on it. And when I first discovered acid in high school, I mean, you know, living in DC, we had all these free museums. I mean, going to the Hirshhorn.

Looking at this stuff and getting it and saying Oh my God, this other person is seeing the same thing.

Yeah, it's.

It's it's a connection that comes that again is part of that wisdom, part of that growth, part of that education, but I really think, yeah, go ahead fellas.

I I just wanted to say like I I saw T dot wanted to speak um uh he mentioned like he was like thumbs up being some points. So like I don't know if you want to speak on that dude.

I mean staking is just Ponzi nomics in the context of a collection. You're basically saying all these people bought stuff. We're going to distribute part of what people bought, distribute part of this, but it's always less than. It's nothing generative or expansive.

Was a real business is art, doesn't have to be, but real art collectors are actually looking at the generativity of the artist. So I'm going to buy Julian Schnabel because either I think he's going to die really quickly and I have one, you know, so the supply is all of a sudden gone or he's going to keep delivering and performing at this level. That's going to show me that having a Jeff Koons or Julian Schnabel or a.

Basquiat Otter.

I grew up in the DC music scene and the the social currency of being in a band like Fugazi or Shudder to Think or.

Um, fire party. Or, you know, it's what's happening here, and people outside the scene don't recognize it. You know, no one from Seattle's going to know about these bands.

But it was. That's what Salana is right now is like this small.

Indie scene and we had our David Geffen, an SBF was here just throwing money at everybody.

But now we're back in reality, and it's going to be really interesting when this actually does breakthrough into the mainstream, who is going to be the Nirvana that knocks the Michael Jackson off the charts? And all the sudden, you know, it's it's a real ecosystem.

Looks like a great example analogy. I suppose that is literally like like one of the greatest artistic examples like I can ever think of.

You know, there's not that many projects being released right now.

We're going through kind of like a, you know a slow crypto winner, whatever this weird market is right now and people are building and.

We're we're surviving right and through.

Well, what I didn't tell you is that we actually, it's all based on uh, so we have a California, Colorado cooperative. So it actually technically is a cooperative. Everybody who's holding a hellbender is going to be a member of this cooperative and we can actually do profit sharing out through the cooperative. Yeah.

That gets around all the, you know, these these people playing, paying out these revenue sharings via their coins and whatever they're doing that's illegal.
